Dock #R-33253 06/08/2014Synopsis: The LPSC requested comments on EPA's Clean Power Plan to reduce emissions from power plants nationally through flexible state and/or regional strategies, including reduction of coal, increased efficiency in generation, energy efficiency from demand side, and renewable energy portfolios. The LPSC also requested answers to specific questions relating to the plan's feasibility in Louisiana.
Comment Synopsis: The Alliance asserts that the EPA's goals for Louisiana are achievable, if not conservative. Through flexible strategic planning, collaboration with other states in our region, using energy efficiency as a true resource, adding renewable energy to our mix, and more efficient CCGT generation, Louisiana is in a good position to exceed the EPAs goals.
