Anjali Appadurai addressed the delegates at the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Durban, South Africa last month. She spoke on behalf of the world’s youth – which accounts for half of the world’s population – and reminded the governments present that it was the future of her generation and successive generations that was at stake. George Bernard Shaw wrote:
The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.
Anjali’s anger and optimism seem pretty “unreasonable” to us and that’s why she gets the nod as our first Friday Fav.
