The American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy ( http://aceee.org/ ) has announced that it will be releasing an in-depth report on opportunities for energy efficiency in the state of Louisiana and suggestions for program design and implimentation. The ACEEE will use this report tohelp guide the LPSC and New Orleans City Council in developing its future energy efficiency plans. At a recent City Council meeting, the ACEEE distributed a report in which it presented energy efficency as a low-cost, low-risk resource. The report estimates that if all electricity utilities in the state of Louisiana scale to 1% savings per year for 10 years, the potential for net electricity bill savings is around $1.3 billion.
